Welcome to Music Ministry at SSPP!

In the Catholic church, where our prayers are always directed upward toward our Divine Master, sometimes it may be difficult to connect with the God whom we can never fully understand or grasp. However, we can always remember that God's word became flesh in Jesus Christ, who came to earth in a fully Divine, fully human form. The balance of divinity and humanity has never ceased to provide much theological debate among people for the length of this Church's days. The humanity of Christ, however, provides a channel for us to connect with our Savior. This channel is not only reflected in our personal prayer lives, but also our communal presence in this world.

Having a personal relationship with Christ means that we are ever-connected with him who created everything we know, and therefore, with him who lives within each human being on this earth. Our personal relationship with Christ then means we are fully connected with every other person we know, and those we have never met. Through this web of relationship with Christ, which can be explained as the working of the Holy Spirit on this earth, means that Christ is ever-present in every person. 

The goal of music ministry at Ss. Peter and Paul is to put before us the challenge of the Gospel, the truth that Christ lives here and now on this earth, and the reminder that every person is a beautifully perfect child of God and deserves the most basic human dignity - love and respect from others.

I personally want to invite all people to take ownership of the music here, which will represent the truth of Christ's message, by coming to join one of our music ministries. There is no requirement of musical background, just a willing spirit and a dedication to the mission of Christ - to love all others as he loves us. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have, and will help you discern joining music at Ss. Peter and Paul.
