Dear Parish Family,
It brings us great joy to welcome you back to this new year of Faith Formation! As you know, our Church has always desired that all the faithful receive a Christian education, especially the young people who are the future of the Church. We aspire to form youth for our time. That is to say, youth that guarantee the presence of Christian thought in the world.
Faith Formation is a continuous, lifelong process. Therefore, here at Ss. Peter and Paul we have a variety of programs for everyone from Preschool to adult, programs where we can all grow in knowledge of the truths of the Catholic faith. Children are best able to integrate the meaning of religious truth into their lives when, as a family, they participate in regular attendance of the Holy Mass, as well praying together at home. Each family should be able to put into practice the inspiring words of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta: “The family that prays together stays together. They will love one another as God has loved each one of them.”
We should always keep in mind that the predominant goal of the catechist is the salvation of souls. As parents and Catechist, we must be devoted to directing the youth that they may grow in the practice of virtue, knowledge of morals, the importance of living a life of Prayer, and the Missionary initiative, all following the examples of the Saints. With this in mind, our Catechists truly strive to ensure that all that who participate in our Faith Formation Programs, come to a deeper knowledge of their faith and the importance of the Salvation of one’s soul.
May Our Lady Help of Christians, guide us on the path to holiness that we may be found worthy of the gift of Eternal Life.
In Jesus and Mary,
Sr. Mary Strength of Martyrs
