What is RCIA? RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and is designed to teach the Catholic Faith to those who:
1. are unbaptized and would like to be received fully into the Catholic Church through Baptism;
2. have been baptized in another Christian community and seek full reception into the Catholic Church;
3. Have been baptized Catholic as infants but have not received the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
When does RCIA meet? RCIA meets on Wedsneday at 6:00 pm to 7:30pm begining in September until May in room 333 in the Fitzgerald building
What should I do to begin RCIA? Call to the parish office and let the secretary know your name and phone number. One of the RCIA team will welcome you and set up a time to meet for the first time.
When will I be baptized and confirmed? Usually the candidates receive the sacraments of Initiation on the night of the Easter Vigil.
Do I have to commit to becoming Catholic before beginnin the RCIA program? No. We welocme all who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. Discernment is a part of the process.
Cathechis and mentors work with interested adults through a process to gradually introduce them to the Roman Catholic Faith and way of life. A calendar of events is provided upon registration.
